The most active gold contract for June delivery dropped 4.42 yuan (about 63 U.S. cents) to close at 336.62 yuan a gram.
The total trading volume for seven listed gold futures contracts on the exchange was 237,217 lots, with a turnover of about 79.4 billion yuan.
