The most active gold contract for June delivery was up 1.8 yuan (about 25 U.S. cents) to close at 339.62 yuan a gram.
The total trading volume for seven listed gold futures contracts on the exchange was 165,953 lots, with a turnover of about 56.4 billion yuan.
