Shanghai gold futures close higher

SHANGHAI, March 16 (Xinhua) -- Gold futures closed higher Tuesday in daytime trading on the Shanghai Futures Exchange.

The most active gold contract for June 2021 delivery was up 2.54 yuan (about 39 U.S. cents) to close at 364.56 yuan a gram.

The total trading volume for seven listed gold futures contracts on the exchange was 160,536 lots, with a turnover of about 58.6 billion yuan.

China launched gold futures in January 2008.
