China's stock markets in Shanghai and Shenzhen opened lower on Thursday.
The Shanghai Composite Index opened 0.51 percent lower at 4,942.52.
The Shenzhen Composite Index opened 0.18 percent lower at 3,016.00.
The SME Price Index for small firms dipped 0.46 percent to open at 11,332.57 and the ChiNext Index opened 0.17 percent lower at 3,734.91.
Stocks of software, computer, machinery, textile, papermaking, chemical fiber, media and shipbuilding sectors led the gainers at the opening while those in bank, transport equipment, public transport, telecom operation, securities brokerage, iron and steel and insurance sectors underperformed.
