China's stock markets in Shanghai and Shenzhen opened higher on Thursday. The Shanghai Composite Index opened 1.73 percent higher at 2,978.03.
The Shenzhen Composite Index opened 1.64 percent higher at 1,723.54. The SME Price Index for small firms was up 2.02 percent to open at 6,811.30 and the ChiNext Index opened 1.84 percent higher at 1,924.78.
All listed sectors opened in the positive territory. Stocks of logistics, medical treatment, insurance, securities dealers, transport services, public transport, media and entertainment, environmental protection and internet sectors led the gainers at Thursday's opening.
