Chinese shares rise moderately amid thinner turnover Fri.

Share prices on China's Shanghai and Shenzhen bourses were in moderate fluctuation and finally closed higher on Friday despite thinner turnover, which indicated investors' cautious attitude toward stock investment.

For the whole day, the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index went up 0.38 percent to end at 3,097.92 points. The Shenzhen Composite Index rose 1.25 percent to end at 1,679.10. The SME Index for small firms added 0.85 percent to end at 6,615.40, and the ChiNext index advanced 2.59 percent to close at 1,983.30.

Combined turnover of the two bourses shrank to 472.62 billion yuan from 698.05 billion yuan on the previous trading day. Stocks in tourism, internet, software, medical care, media, logistics, environmental protection, computer, petroleum, chemical, automobile and agricultural sectors led the gainers while those in public transport, shipbuilding and bank sectors led the losers.

On the stock index futures market, the IF October contract went down 0.57 percent to end at 3,139.0, keeping a discount of 112.27 points to the underlying Hushen 300 Index, which added 0.44 percent to close at 3,251.27.

The SSE 50 October contract lost 0.99 percent to end at 2,195.2, keeping a premium of 0.38 points to the underlying SSE 50 Index, which dropped 2.1 percent to close at 2,194.82. The CSI October contract rose 0.23 percent to end at 5,830.0, keeping a discount of 206.88points to the underlying CSI 500 stock index, which went up 1.2 percent to end at 6,036.88. The September contracts expired on Friday.
