China's stock indices in Shanghai and Shenzhen opened lower on Wednesday. The Shanghai Composite Index opened 0.50 percent lower at 3,417.01. The Shenzhen Composite Index opened 0.66 percent lower at 2,030.23,
The SME Price Index for small firms was down 0.69 percent to open at 7,873.54, and the ChiNext Index opened 0.48 percent lower at 2,551.70.
All listed sectors except for shipbuilding opened in the negative territory. Stocks of logistics, medical treatment, public transport, mineral products, telecom operation, tourism, software services sectors led the losers at Wednesday's opening.
