China's stock indices in Shanghai and Shenzhen opened higher on Thursday. The Shanghai Composite Index opened 0.37 percent higher at 3,387.77. The Shenzhen Composite Index opened 0.67 percent higher at 2,011.81. The SME Price Index for small firms was up 0.62 percent to open at 7,772.02 and the ChiNext Index opened 0.79 percent higher at 2,504.85.
All listed sectors except for shipbuilding and banking opened in the positive territory. Stocks of public transport, engineering machinery, mineral products, aviation devices, medical treatment, software services, and petroleum sectors led the gainers at Thursday's opening.
