Stock indices tracking Shanghai and Shenzhen bourses opened higher on Thursday.
The Shanghai Composite Index opened 0.15 percent higher at 3,575.78. The Shenzhen Composite Index opened 0.34 percent higher at 2,197.27. The SME Price Index for small firms was up 0.35 percent to open at 8,295.79 and the ChiNext Index opened 0.65 percent higher at 2,678.36.
Stocks of transport equipment, natural gas, home appliances, medical treatment, Internet, software services, media and entertainment, insurance, and chemical fiber sectors led the gainers at Thursday's opening, while, the leading losers were in shipbuilding, chemical fiber, daily chemicals, telecom operation, computer equipment, and electricity gird sectors.
