Stock indices tracking Shanghai and Shenzhen bourses opened sharply lower on Monday. The Shanghai Composite Index opened lower at 3,131.85. The Shenzhen Composite Index opened lower at 1,934.24, The SME Price Index for small firms opened lower at 7,039.20, and the ChiNext Index opened lower at 2,188.19.
All listed sectors except for coal opened in the negative territory. Stocks of mineral products, software services, hotels, media and entertainment, telecom operation, public transport, telecom equipment, tourism, internet, medical treatment, and computer equipment sectors led the losers at Monday's opening.
