Chinese stocks closed mixed on Wednesday, after fresh data showed the Chinese economy is stabilizing.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index closed up 0.03 percent at 3,084.72 points.

The smaller Shenzhen index closed 0.36 percent lower at 10,757.92 points.

The ChiNext Index, which tracks China's growth enterprises, fell 0.6 percent to close at 2,184.91 points.

Turnover expanded to 574.63 billion yuan (around 85.38 billion U.S. dollars), up from 483.42 billion yuan the previous trading day.

Data from the National Bureau of Statistics confirmed the Chinese economy has stabilized on the back of government spending and a hot housing market.

The country's gross domestic product expanded 6.7 percent in the third quarter, unchanged from the second quarter.

Private investment remained subdued with government spending and property strong.

Retail sales rose a solid 10.7 percent and urban investment increased 8.2 percent, but industrial output disappointed by growing only 6.1 percent.

Aviation shares led the increases after the Shenzhou-11 manned spacecraft successfully completed automated docking with the orbiting Tiangong-2 space lab early Wednesday morning. Avic Aircraft Co. rose 3.26 percent to close at 22.16 yuan.
