​U.S.-listed Chinese firms trade higher amid upbeat earnings

U.S.-listed Chinese companies traded mostly higher on Tuesday, with six of the top 10 stocks by weight in the S&P U.S. Listed China 50 index ending the day on an upbeat note.

Shares of Alibaba, BeiGene, and New Oriental increased 2.23 percent, 1.75 percent, and 1.35 percent respectively.

As of Tuesday, the S&P U.S. Listed China 50 index stood at 3,066.81, marking a 0.54-percent loss for the month-to-date returns and a 0.78-percent decrease for the year-to-date returns.

U.S. stocks closed higher onWednesday as investors digested latest corporate earnings reports.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average decreased 38.56 points, or 0.16 percent, to 24,748.07. The S&P 500 was up 2.25 points, or 0.08 percent, to 2,708.64. The Nasdaq Composite Index increased 14.14 points, or 0.19 percent, to 7,295.24.
