China's major stock indices ended higher in the morning session on Monday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 1.21 percent to end at 3,128.34 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index gained 1.56 percent to end at 10,588.63 points.
The ChiNext Index, tracking China's NASDAQ-style board of growth enterprises, rose 1.73 percent to 1,846.25 points in the morning session Monday.
The ChiNext Index, together with the Shenzhen Component Index and the Shenzhen SME (small- and medium-sized enterprises) Board Index, are major indices reflecting the performance of stocks listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange.
The ChiNext Board, which started trading on Oct. 30, 2009, mainly lists high-tech companies and those with high growth potential.
