China's major stock indices ended lower in the morning session on Friday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.08 percent to end at 3,171.9 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index lost 0.48 percent to end at 10,677.93 points.
The ChiNext Index, tracking China's NASDAQ-style board of growth enterprises, fell 1.11 percent to 1,844.58 points in the morning session Friday.
The ChiNext Index, together with the Shenzhen Component Index and the Shenzhen SME (small- and medium-sized enterprises) Board Index, are major indices reflecting the performance of stocks listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange.
The ChiNext Board, which started trading on Oct. 30, 2009, mainly lists high-tech companies and those with high growth potential.
