Chinese stocks opened higher on Thursday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.71 percent to open at 2,660.09 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index opened 0.79 percent higher at 7,813.63 points.
The ChiNext Index, China's NASDAQ-style board of growth enterprises, was up 0.9 percent to open at 1,357.89 points Thursday.
The ChiNext Index, together with the Shenzhen Component Index and the Shenzhen SME (small- and medium-sized enterprises) Board Index, are major indices reflecting the performance of stocks listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange.
Hong Kong stocks gained 343.58 points, or 1.31 percent, to open at 26,491.27 points on Thursday.
