Chinese shares close lower Friday

Chinese stocks closed lower Monday, dampened by 5G, semiconductor and military industry shares.
 
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index closed down 0.71 percent, at 2,535.77, with the Shenzhen Component Index closing 0.87 percent lower at 7,409.20.
 
The combined turnover of stocks in the two indices fell to 283.16 billion yuan (about 41.91 billion U.S. dollars) from 296.2 billion yuan the previous trading day.
 
Most shares lost, with losers outnumbering gainers 941 to 429 on the Shanghai bourse, and 1,458 to 587 on the Shenzhen bourse.
 
Shares of hydrogen fuel cells, coal, iron and steel gained, while 5G, semiconductors and military industry stocks suffered losses.
 
The ChiNext Index, China's NASDAQ-style board, was down 1.23 percent to close at 1,246.
