Chinese shares trended higher at midday Wednesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index rising 0.94 percent to close at 2,697.11 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index gained 1.28 percent to 8,112.66 points at midday.
The ChiNext Index, tracking China's NASDAQ-style board of growth enterprises, went up 1.45 percent to 1,351.53 points in the morning session Wednesday.
The ChiNext Index, together with the Shenzhen Component Index and the Shenzhen SME (small and medium-sized enterprises) Board Index, are major indices reflecting the performance of stocks listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange.
