Chinese stocks opened lower on Friday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.09 percent to open at 2,749.46 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index opened 0.24 percent lower at 8,431.56 points.
The ChiNext Index, China's NASDAQ-style board of growth enterprises, was down 0.19 percent to open at 1,409.86 points Friday.
The ChiNext Index, together with the Shenzhen Component Index and the Shenzhen SME (small and medium-sized enterprises) Board Index, are major indices reflecting the performance of stocks listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange.
Hong Kong stocks lost 150.96 points, or 0.53 percent, to open at 28,478.96 points on Friday.
