U.S.-listed Chinese firms trade mixed

NEW YORK, March 12 (Xinhua) -- U.S.-listed Chinese companies traded mixed on Tuesday with half of the top 10 stocks by weight in the S&P U.S. Listed China 50 index ending the day on an upbeat note.

Shares of JD.com and Yun China added 1.77 percent and 0.93 percent respectively, leading the advancers in the top 10 stocks of the index.

Shares of TAL Education and New Oriental declined 6.6 percent and 3.54 percent respectively, the top two laggards among the top 10 stocks. U.S. stocks closed mixed on Tuesday as investors digested the latest economic data.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 96.22 points, or 0.38 percent, to 25,554.66. The S&P 500 was up 8.22 points, or 0.30 percent, to 2,791.52.

The Nasdaq Composite Index was up 32.97 points, or 0.44 percent, to 7,591.03. As of Monday, the S&P U.S. Listed China 50 index stood at 2,766.97, marking a 1.18-percent increase for the month-to-date returns and a 20.76-percent gain for the year-to-date returns.
