BEIJING, June 24 (Xinhua) -- Shares of Kweichow Moutai, China's leading liquor brand, surged to a new high Monday morning ahead of the company's cash dividend payout this week.
The company's shares saw strong performance in the morning session, opening higher at 978.3 yuan (about 143 U.S. dollars) and surging to as high as 999 yuan at around 11:00 a.m.
Kweichow Moutai currently has the highest stock price on China's A-share market, much higher than the runner-up, which traded at around 320 yuan per share Monday.
