U.S.-listed Chinese companies trade mostly higher

NEW YORK, Aug. 8 (Xinhua) -- U.S.-listed Chinese companies traded mostly higher on Thursday with all of the top 10 stocks by weight in the S&P U.S. Listed China 50 index ending the day on an upbeat note.

Shares of NetEase and JD.com gained 10.26 percent and 3.65 percent, respectively, leading the gainers in the top 10 stocks of the index.

U.S. stocks closed higher on Thursday as concerns for global economic slowdown were eased after global bond yields stabilized.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 371.12 points, or 1.43 percent, to 26,378.19. The S&P 500 rose 54.11 points, or 1.88 percent, to 2,938.09. The Nasdaq Composite Index rose 176.33 points, or 2.24 percent, to 8,039.16.

As of Wednesday, the S&P U.S. Listed China 50 index stood at 2,554.34, marking a 5.57-percent decrease for the month-to-date returns and an 11.48-percent gain for the year-to-date returns. Enditem
