BEIJING, Nov. 7 (Xinhua) -- Chinese tech firm Baidu posted strong traffic growth on its main platforms in the third quarter (Q3) of the year as the company steps up content and artificial intelligence development.
Daily active users of Baidu App, the company's mobile news feed and searching app, reached 189 million by the end of September, up 25 percent year on year, according to its unaudited financial statement released Thursday.
The company's DuerOS voice assistant also experienced strong momentum with monthly voice queries surpassing 4.2 billion in September, up over 4.5 fold year on year.
Progress in early-stage commercialization of smart transportation was made with the release of the Apollo-powered robotaxi pilot program to the public in central China's Changsha in September, the statement said.
Baidu's revenue reached 28.1 billion yuan (about 4 billion U.S. dollars) in Q3, up 7 percent over the previous quarter.
