TOKYO, Feb. 7 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks fell slightly Friday morning, as profit-taking by some investors offset earlier gains facilitated by a strong performance in U.S. shares.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average shed 18.22 points, or 0.08 percent, from Thursday to 23,855.37.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange,meanwhile, was down 3.66 points, or 0.21 percent, at 1,733.32.
Pulp and paper, miscellaneous product, and textile and apparel issues comprised those that declined the most by the morning break.
