The Dow Jones Industrial Average jumped 461.46 points, or 1.70 percent, to 27,572.44. The S&P 500 increased 38.46 points, or 1.20 percent, to 3,232.39. The Nasdaq Composite Index was up 110.66 points, or 1.13 percent, to 9,924.74.
Boeing shares soared 12.2 percent, leading the advancers in the Dow.
All the 11 primary S&P 500 sectors traded on an upbeat note, with energy closing up 4.32 percent, outpacing the rest.

For the week ending Friday, the Dow advanced 6.8 percent, the S&P 500 gained 4.9 percent and the Nasdaq climbed 3.4 percent.
