FRANKFURT, Oct. 2 (Xinhua) -- German stocks edged down on Friday, with the benchmark DAX index down 41.73 points, or 0.33 percent, to close at 12,689.04 points.
Multinational chemical and pharmaceutical company Bayer lost 3.03 percent, the top loser among the blue chips, followed by semiconductor manufacturer Infineon Technologies and aircraft engine manufacturer MTU Aero which lost 2.02 percent and 1.77 percent respectively.
Material manufacturer Covestro gained 2.21 percent, becoming the top gainer. Energy groups RWE and E.ON advanced 1.89 percent and 1.74 percent respectively.
Bayer was the most traded share with a turnover of 517.62 million euros (607.17 million U.S. dollars).
China's Haier, a leading global household appliances manufacturer listed in Frankfurt in 2018, added 1.65 percent to close at 0.834 euros per share on Friday.
