The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.09 percent higher at 13,471.16 points.
The combined turnover of stocks covered by the two indices came in at 900.4 billion yuan (about 142.02 billion U.S. dollars), up from 807.5 billion yuan on the previous trading day.
Stocks related to computing concepts and data hubs led the gains while shares in the precious metals and air transport sectors led the losses.
