China's A-share stock markets raise 1.67 trln yuan of funds

BEIJING, March 7 (Xinhua) -- China's A-share stock markets continued to be crucial platforms for raising funds for companies last year, according to a communique released by the National Bureau of Statistics.

A total of 1.67 trillion yuan (about 265 billion U.S. dollars) was raised through A-share stock markets in 2021, up 132.6 billion yuan from the previous year, said the communique.

The Shanghai and Shenzhen bourses saw 481 initial public offerings (IPOs) last year, raising a total of 535.1 billion yuan.

Refinancing on the two bourses reached 1.14 trillion yuan, an increase of 71.7 billion yuan from a year ago.

The Beijing bourse witnessed 11 IPOs in 2021, raising 2.1 billion yuan of funds.
