Six key documents on power reform that cover power market establishment, power transaction system reform, power generation and consumption planning reform, power transmission and distribution pricing reform, and power sales side reform are likely to come out soon, accoriding to a report by Economics Information Daily on Wednesday.
Insiders say power reform in China would not make substantial progress until the release of these key documents. Meanwhile, the country will deepen price reform in the power sector by advancing and expanding power transmission and distribution price reform piloting, according to a release by the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC).
The diversification of electricity sales entities become possible with the reform piloting to be expanded nationwide, and the countries five major power enterprises as well as local power generation companies are working to set up their electricity sales units, according to an industry experts.
The core of power reform is electricity pricing reform, of which reform of power transmission and distribution is the most key part, according to guidelines for deepening power system reform released by the State Council in mid-March.
