The National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), China's top economic planner, on Friday said that it would soon release the second batch of regions for piloting new-type urbanization.
The NDRC released the comprehensive piloting plan for promoting new-type urbanization on February 4, 2015, in which Jiangsu Province, Anhui Province and 62 cities and towns were selected to be the first batch of regions into the pilot.
According to the plan, the pilot was started before the end of 2014 and the plan will be improved based on specific situation.
By the year of 2017, the pilot is expected to see initial achievements to formulate duplicable experiences and successful experiences of the piloting regions will be promoted all over the country from 2018 to 2020.
Main tasks of the pilot include forming a cost sharing mechanism for farming population's transformation into urban residents, establishing a diversified and sustainable urbanization investment and financing mechanism, reforming and improving rural residential site policy and exploring new management mode.
