China's National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) expects no drastic consumer price rise in the following months of this year, said Li Pumin, secretary general of NDRC on a press conference Thursday.

Li made the remarks when introducing the September consumer price running, which crept up 1.6 percent from a year ago, down 0.4 percentage point from the year-on-year rise in August thanks to weaker carryover effect.

In the rest months of this year, China's consumer prices would keep rising mildly due to cooling weather, more holidays and possible higher seasonal rise of farm produce and clothing prices, according to Li.
