China's State Council, the cabinet, on Monday released a guideline to boost e-commerce business in the country's rural areas.
According to the guideline, China aims to build a rural e-commerce system by 2020 so as to increase jobs, drive consumption and alleviate poverty. The government will step up telecom infrastructure construction, increase financial support and improve logistics in the rural areas.
Analysts say Chinese government has repeatedly stressed the importance of rural e-commerce development, and related stocks on the Shanghai and Shenzhen bourses will likely see trading opportunities on policy support.
