China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) convened a meeting to review a draft plan for robot industry development in the 13th Five-Year Plan period (2016-2020) on Wednesday.
Xin Guobin, vice minister of the MIIT, chaired the meeting and asked the Department of Equipment Industry to improve the draft as soon as possible, cnstock.com reported on Thursday.
According to the report, the development of China's robot industry needs to avoid producing inferior products, follow the principle of market-orientation, strengthen service robot development and improve the intelligent level of robots.
