China's Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security (MOHRSS) has announced on December 14 that it had published the 13th Five-Year Plan for technical education.
This is MOHRSS' first five-year plan for technical education. The technical schools is expected to meet market demand, suit industry development with school-enterprise integration and work-learning integration highlighted for education reform by 2020, according to the plan.
China has 2,545 technical schools by the end of 2015. This included 434 technician colleges with about 3.22 million students and an employment rate of 97.4 percent, according to statistics by the MOHRSS.
