China's National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Commerce recently jointly released the Catalogue of Priority Industries for Foreign Investment in the Central and Western Regions (2017 Revision), scheduled to take effect on March 20, 2017.
Compared to the previous version, the 2017 Catalogue adds 173 items, removes 34 items, and adjusts 84 items to attract overseas investment in the targeted sectors to central and western China.
Under current rules, foreign-invested projects included in the Catalogue are entitled to preferential policies, such as tax incentives and preferential access to land.
The Catalogue is organized by provinces, covering 22 out of the 31 provincial-level administrative divisions on the Chinese mainland.
