The total value of exported goods from Macedonia from January to August this year reached 160 billion Macedonian denars (2.9 billion U.S. dollars), the Macedonian state statistics office said in a report on Wednesday.
The total value of imported goods in the same period amounted to 4.1 billion dollars, putting the trade deficit at 1.2 billion dollars.
In terms of exports, the most significant products are supported catalysts with precious metal or precious metal compounds as the active substance, ferro-nickel and ignition wiring sets, among others.
In terms of imports, the most significant products are the platinum and platinum alloys, petroleum oil and electricity, among others. Germany topped Macedonia's trade partners, followed by Britain, Serbia, Greece, Bulgaria, Italy and China.
