5.4-magnitude quake hits New Zealand: USGS

An earthquake measuring 5.4 on the Richter scale jolted 32 km off Castlepoint town in New Zealand on Monday, the U.S. Geological Survey said. The epicenter, with a depth of 21.39 km, was initially determined to be at 40.6511 degrees south latitude and 176.4257 degrees east longitude.
