Japanese frozen food company Nichirei announced a recall of some 250,000 bags of frozen vegetables due to possible bacteria pollution, local media reported Wednesday.
The vegetables are suspected to be tainted with Listeria monocytogenes, a kind of pathogenic bacteria that could cause food poison.
The polluted vegetables, including frozen corns, have been distributed throughout the country except in Hokkaido and Northeast Japan. Customers are required to mail back the frozen vegetables to get refund.
