The Turkish parliament will launch a comprehensive probe over a recent failed coup attempt, a ruling party official told Anadolu Agency on Tuesday.

They attacked so many places but the parliament was on the top of their list, Naci Bostanci, deputy leader of the parliamentary group of the Justice and Development Party (AKP), told Anadolu.

The AKP would submit its proposal next week and then lead the formation of an investigation committee, he added.

He noted that all political parties represented in parliament submitted their own motions for establishing an investigation committee.

"We'll make the necessary talks next week and then form the investigation committee," he added.
