German exports rose notably by almost 10 percent in August year on year, German Federal Statistical Office Destatis reported on Monday.
Germany exported goods worth 96.5 billion euros (about 108 billion U.S. dollars) in August, up by 5.4 percent on July 2016. It also represented a year-on-year increase of 9.8 percent, according to statistics released by Destatis.
Meanwhile, Germany imported goods worth 76.5 billion euros in August, up by 3.0 percent on July, representing a year-on-year increase of 5.3 percent. The surplus of German foreign trade balance amounted to 20.0 billion euros in August. (1 euro = 1.12 U.S. dollars)
