Brazil is interested in investments in Iran's energy projects, an Iranian official at Ministry of Petroleum was quoted as saying by Fars news agency on Monday.
Brazil has called for contribution to Iran's oil projects, downstream oil sector and cooperation in deep waters, said Hossein Esmaili, director general of the Europe, American and Caspian Neighbors Affairs Department at Ministry of Petroleum.
A visiting delegation from Brazilian companies reached an agreement with Iranian officials in Tehran on Sunday to form a joint energy committee for this purpose, Esmaili said.
Iran welcomes cooperation with the Brazilian top companies, he said, adding that further talks in this respect will continue with the Brazilians.
Minister of Petroleum, Bijan Namdar Zangeneh, said earlier that Brazil is a powerful country with a big market of technology and Iran should establish a long-term, strong and strategic cooperation with Brazil.
