Eurozone retail sales grew by 1.1 percent in October from September after two months of declines, the European Union's (EU) statistics office Eurostat said Monday.

The rise was due to increases of 2.3 percent for non-food products, while food product sales expanded only 0.2 percent. On a yearly basis, adjusted retail sales in the eurozone increased by 2.4 percent and by 3.5 percent in the EU.

Among member countries, the highest increases in the total retail trade volume were observed in Luxembourg, Romania and Slovenia, while a decrease was observed in Belgium.
