Prices for goods and services among South Korean suppliers inched down last month due to cheaper chemicals and metal products, central bank data showed Monday.

The producer price index (PPI) stood at 102.58 in April, down 0.1 percent from a month earlier, according to the Bank of Korea (BOK).

The index kept falling for the second consecutive month.

Farm goods prices declined 0.8 percent, with those for napa cabbage, onion and tomato posting a double-digit decline.

Egg prices gained 11 percent, with those for pork and duck rising 9.4 percent and 3.3 percent each.

Industrial goods prices fell 0.2 percent due to soft demand for chemical products.

Prices for metal products shed 0.5 percent on lower raw material prices.

Services prices inched up 0.1 percent, and those for electricity tap water and gas were changed last month.
