Myanmar has permitted 26 more investment enterprises, creating some 940 job opportunities recently, official media reported Wednesday.
The 26 enterprises include seven local enterprises and 19 foreign-owned enterprises in sectors of industry, livestock breeding, construction, transport and communication, hotel, tourism and electricity generation.
The total amount of investment from foreign-owned enterprises amounted to 184 million U.S. dollars and 409 billion kyats (298 million dollars) from local enterprises.
In 2017-18, over 3.67 billion dollars of investments of 112 foreign enterprises had entered the country, including that in Thilawa Special Economic Zone (SEZ).
Also, Myanmar Investment Commission has permitted 40 domestic enterprises in the same fiscal year 2017-2018.
The country targets over 6 billion U.S. dollars of foreign direct investment in FY 2017-18.
