Foreign investment in Tunisia grew by 13.6 percent during the first nine months of 2017 compared to the previous year, the Foreign Investment Promotion Agency (FIPA) of Tunisia announced on Sunday.
Among the total foreign investment of 1,648.4 million dinars (659.4 million U.S. dollars), 1,592 million dinars were foreign direct investment (FDI) which represented a 13.2 percent increase compared to 2016.
The sector distribution of foreign investment in Tunisia showed that the energy sector was the least attractive to foreign investors, with a decline of 9.3 percent, while the industrial sector has witnessed an increase of 41.3 percent.
As for service sector, foreign investment recorded a growth of 39.7 percent until the end of September 2017, after the sharp declines observed during the past two years of 28.9 percent in 2015 and 29.6 percent in 2016 respectively.
