French company Vinci Airports won the competition for the concession of the Belgrade Airport, Prime Minister Ana Brnabic and the President Aleksandar Vucic revealed on Saturday.

After touring the restoration works at the building of the National Museum, Brnabic and Vucic revealed that the government decided that the best offer among global leaders who applied at the competition for the concession was that of the French company Vinci Airports.

Brnabic explained at a press conference that the concession will last for 25 years and is worth near 1.5 billion euros (1.8 billion U.S. dollars) while after that period, airport will be again in the ownership of Serbia.

Vucic said the deal shows that Serbia made progress in the past five years, and that there is a fast-growing number of passengers at the airport.

It will also reduce Serbia's worries about the fiscal deficit, Vucic added.
