Price for goods and services among South Korean suppliers fell for the first time in 11 months in October on lower farm goods prices, central bank data showed Tuesday.
The producer price index (PPI) stood at 105.41 in October, down 0.4 percent from the previous month, according to the Bank of Korea (BOK). It was the first decline since November last year.
The fall came as farm goods prices, which jumped in recent months on the sweltering heatwave in the summertime, showed a stable picture.
Prices for agricultural, livestock and fishery products shrank 9.7 percent in October from a month earlier. Agricultural product price tumbled 12.3 percent, with the figure for livestock products sliding 10.6 percent.
Industrial product price was unchanged last month as chemical product price declined, offsetting the higher price for coal and oil product.
Prices for tap water, natural gas and electricity made no change in October from the prior month.
