Singapore Economic Development Board announced on Monday that the city-state's manufacturing output rose by 4.3 percent year on year in October, compared to the revised 0.1 percent decrease in September.
Excluding biomedical manufacturing, Singapore's manufacturing output grew 3 percent year on year in October, compared to the two percent growth in September.
In the first ten months, Singapore's manufacturing output grew 7.5 percent year on year. Excluding biomedical manufacturing, it grew 7.9 percent year on year.
On a seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis, Singapore's manufacturing output hiked 2 percent in October. Excluding bio-medical manufacturing, output grew 3.9 percent.
On a year-on-year basis, the electronics cluster's output fell by 2.7 percent in October, the chemicals cluster's output declined by 1 percent, the transport engineering cluster's output jumped by 30.8 percent, the bio-medical manufacturing cluster's output hiked 11.5 percent, the precision engineering cluster's output grew 1.4 percent, and the general manufacturing industries saw their outputs up by 1.3 percent.
