SUVA, March 13 (Xinhua) -- The Fiji Airways together with the Civil Aviation Authority of Fiji have decided to temporarily ground its fleet of Boeing 737 MAX aircraft.

In a statement on Wednesday, the two authorities said this had been done in line with the stance taken by aviation regulators in the region, and an increasing number of operators worldwide to ground their aircraft.

The two authorities have given their assurance they will continue to monitor developments closely, and this decision will be reviewed as soon as any new information comes in.

Fiji Airways, which started operating the Boeing 737 MAX last December, currently has two such planes.
