Malaysia's Statistics Department said in a statement that agriculture, forestry and fishing dropped 14.2 percent, water supply declined 1.7 percent and manufacturing decreased 0.8 percent.
The index of the mining as well as electricity and gas supply increased 3 percent and 2.1 percent, respectively.
Compared to the previous month, the producer price index for local production dropped 0.3 percent, due to the decline in agriculture, forestry and fishing of 5.8 percent.
However, the index of four sectors increased, with electricity and gas supply rising 2.1 percent, mining climbing 0.5 percent, water supply increasing 0.2 and manufacturing rising 0.1 percent.
