TOKYO, June 4 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 6.1 struck Japan's Torishima Island region, the weather agency said Tuesday.
According to the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA), the temblor struck at 1:40 p.m. local time at a latitude of 29.1 degrees north and a longitude of 139.8 degrees east.
